Me and shiny new things. I tell you what. Each day I find one more piece of this new computer to tweak, manipulate or otherwise feed my endless technological curiosity. Today it was the webcam. I was finalizing some new settings in Skype (yes, I now have a business phone number) and wanted to make sure that Skype was working with the new webcam. What came of this was 2 test videos, the second of which I decided to upload to YouTube. Enjoy…

…and you know the rest of the song. Been a crazy day, week, month, 6 months. Lots of changes, lots of ups and downs. But I think it is safe to say that things are settling down and I’m into a comfortable rhythm. Work is going well on all fronts. Been finding success with the classes I’ve been teaching. And here in the last week or so – I’ve really been digging the new computer set up. Aw yeah!
Core i7 processor (fastest consumer processor as of this week at least). New 23 inch monitor just came in today. HOLY CRAP. It’s huge. And HD 1080p. Now I’m wishing...

So it’s Saturday. The weekend technically started yesterday evening, but the fun didn’t start until today. First up? I mowed the lawn. Traditionally, I don’t mind doing yard work. But it loses a bit of it’s pizazz once the Indiana humidity kicks in for the summer. Ick! Doesn’t help either that every time I mow I end up a sneezy, snotty mess.
Anyways, now I’m relaxing in the A/C in preparation for the big show tonight. We’ll be heading out to the Picnic with the Pops. Full orchestra, great music and best of all: fireworks (set off w/ music...

Well, I’ve been a stay-at-home dad now going on 2 months. During that time I’ve also been making varied attempts at bringing in additional income to keep the family afloat. So far so good, but it hasn’t all been victories. There have been some set backs, some of which are yet to be resolved. Regardless, finances are in order, optimism is still in place (mostly) and I’ve been given a huge opportunity: To really get to know my daughter.
I’ve been involved with Abby ever since she was born, but I’ve deferred to Becca for her motherly instincts. That’s...

Drum roll please!
Here are 5 random things that have made me happy today, in no particular order:
Sesame Street: Picked up a CD with Sesame Street’s greatest hits. Such classics as “Rubber Ducky You’re the One” and “It’s Not Easy Being Green” made the grade. Listening to children’s music in the car hasn’t been this entertaining since, well, ever!
Sweet Tea: Need I say more?
McDonald’s McCafe: Normally, I would steer clear of a fast-food giant’s attempts at being glamorous. But where I live, the nearest Starbucks is literally...

Today is a freaking scorcher. On the way home from lunch, the 4 banks I passed all told me it was 90 degrees. Each time I died a little inside. Heat, especially muggy heat, is like my kryptonite. Icky, icky, icky. I can’t stand being covered in sweat. No thanks!
Had lunch at a local BBQ place today – Fat Man’s BBQ. It’s not earth-shatteringly great, but definitely worth the price. You can get a pulled-meat (you choose the meat) sandwich, a side and a drink for $5. Not bad at all. I payed a little extra and had the beef brisquet. Mmmm…
Abby and...
